Futurama writer, Ken Keeler, created a mathematical theorem for the sole purpose of an episode of Futurama. Apparently he has a PhD in Applied Maths. Pretty incredible how someone can end up being a writer for The Simpsons and Futurama after getting a PhD in that field. Crazy stuff.
